We answer all questions you may have about Flexistore self storage and Norway's most modern storage solution.

General

What is self storage or?

Self storage, or mini storage, is self-service storage and involves you subscribing to a storage booth that you dispose of freely for your own use. You can visit the warehouse at any time and access the warehouse and storage room via digital keys in the Flexistore app. Only you have access to the booth and can decide for yourself who you want to share the digital keys with. Flexistore offers stalls of different sizes at several different locations. You can find a complete overview of the different stalls in the app.

What is a storage unit?

A storage unit is your private storage room in a larger facility that only you have access to. Share your digital keys with friends or family via your phone and app.

What is the difference between temperate and non-temperate storage?

Flexistore only has temperate storage units. A temperate storage has heat insulating outer walls and keeps a steady temperature and humidity all year round. This ensures the safe storage of cold-sensitive objects. A non-temperate warehouse does not have heat insulating walls and temperature and humidity will fluctuate with the seasons, such as container storage.

Is it safe to store at Flexistore?

Flexistore values safety. Our access system and video surveillance ensure that we have full control over who is at the storage facility at all times. In addition, we have installed sensors that check that the storage units at any given time holds a stable temperature, is dry and has satisfactory humidity. We also offer several different options to ensure the things you have in storage. You choose this when you reserve a storage unit in the app.

How do I move my belongings to and from the storage facility?

We have several different options for shipping and transport to the warehouse if you can't or want to carry your things yourself. We work with Best Transport, XFrakt and other professional relocation agencies. You can see all the options as well as book transportation when booking storage in the app.

What storage sizes do we have?

We have several different sizes of the stalls, from Lockers at 1m3 to stalls of 1-12m2. Download the app and see what's available at the different departments.

How tall is the storage unit?

Storage height in the booth will vary from department to department, from 2.1 to 3m storage height. If you have special needs, please contact customer service and we will help you as best we can.

How much can I fit in the storage unit?

A storage unit holds more than one first assumes. In a small 1 sqm storage room, you can fit about 15 moving boxes if you stack in height. You can use our in-app size calculator to calculate about how much space you need. You are also welcome to contact customer service if you are unsure or have special requests and we will help you find the right size.

Can others see what I have in the storage unit?

No, your storage is personal. Walls and doors consist of steel, without insight.

Is it possible to visit the facility and see the storage unit before I decide?

Yes, contact customer service and we'll set up a viewing for you.

Are there power outlets in the storage unit

There are no power outlets in our storage units.

Are there trolleys for use at the facility?

There are trolleys to lend at all our facilities. The trolleys are locked and and can be unlocked through the app. The trolley must be put bavk and locked after use.

How much does it cost to rent a storage unit at Flexistore?

The price of the storage units varies depending on size and department. You can find prices on the different units on the website and in the app. You can download the app for free and sign up without committing to pay anything.

When can I move into the storage unit?

Immediately after you complete the registration and pay for the unit. You will access the digital key in the app and can move into the storage as soon as you want.

Can I open my storage unit when I'm not at the facility?

You can remotely open your booth with the keys in the Flexistore app on all our departments except Gamle Oslo. Old Oslo has a different barn system, where only some stalls can be remotely opened. Please contact customer service if you have any doubts about what applies to your storage room.

Can I give other people access to my stall?

Yes, you can easily share the key with others in the app under the relevant booth by tapping "share". You can also remove access even in the app at any time.

Can I have more than one storage unit with a Flexistore account?

Yes, you can have multiple unit, at the same or a different facility with the same user account. All units are managed in the app.

Rental Agreement and terms of conditions

Who can use Flexistore?

Flexistore is available to both private individuals and businesses. Anyone can download and use the Flexistore app, but to reserve a storage room you must be at least 18 years of age.

Am I allowed to work or stay in the storage unit?

You are allowed to repack and clean up the storage unit. However, it is not allowed to stay there for a long period of time, nor use the unit as a workplace.

What can you store in the storage?

You can mostly store everything you want that corresponds to common sense. For safety reasons, it is not allowed to bring or store items for which it is criminal to be in possession of, or that stem from criminal offences. The same applies to all forms of food or foul-smelling goods, as well as flammable material, liquids or gases, explosives, or anything that can cause harm or endanger.

Do I need my own insurance?

Yes, you need to buy insurance at Flexistore when booking a storage room. To do this, choose the insurance option that best suits you and your assets in the app.

Do I have to think about something special when I move into the storage?

It is important to familiarize yourself with what is allowed and not allowed to store, as well as proper storage of goods. This information can be found in our terms and conditions. We recommend packing your belongings with care so that you avoid something crushing or being destroyed during transport. Textiles and mattresses must be wrapped in plastic, and furniture should be covered.

How long do I have to rent the storage unit?

A rental period is at least 1 month. There is no maximum rental time. The lease is ongoing and automatically renews monthly, or annually, until you choose to terminate the rental.

How do I terminate the rental?

You can easily terminate the rental agreement on the storage unit in the app. You can also cancel the lease in writing via email or chat. Please note that the lease must be terminated at least 14 days before the new rental date starts in order to  not be charged for the next month.

How long is the notice period?

The rent must be terminated at least 14 days before the start of the new rental period. Each rental period is 1 calendar month. Details about the rental and when the next rental period starts can be found in the app.

How do I know when a new rental period starts?

A new rental period starts on the next billing date. This information can be found in the app under the relevant unit.

Can I regret it if I've terminated the rental of my storage unit?

If you have canceled the booth and change your mind and want to keep it anyway, you can easily change this in the app. Select re-enable inside the app under the relevant booth and the lease will be reactivated again.

How do I leave the storage unit when I'm moving out of it?

The boden must be completely empty and clean before leaving it. The door should be closed and locked.

Another person wants to take over my storage unit, what do we do?

The rental agreement is between you and Flexistore and cannot be transferred to others. You can share the key with whoever you want, but if someone else wants to take over the rental of your storage, that person must enter a new agreement with Flexistore in its name. Contact customer service and we will help with this.

Billing

How do I know that my reservation has been completed and approved?

Once the reservation is made, you will see the selected booth in the app. You will also receive a confirmation email and SMS when the reservation is approved.  If the booth has a warning that says "waiting for approval" try to refresh the page by dragging and dropping. The booth must also be paid for the reservation to be approved. If you have a reservation marked "unpaid" you can try to repay the booth in the app.

How is the storage rent billed?

The rent is paid in advance from month to month, or annually if you have chosen it. The first rental is paid in the app with the selected payment method. Then the rent will be automatically deducted from the selected payment method until the agreement is terminated. You can change and update your payment method in the app through your tenancy.

I want a specification of the payment. How do I get it?

The last month receipt can be found in the app under the current booth. If you need receipts that are further back in time, please contact customer service and we will send you what you need by email.

Can I have an invoice sent by physical mail?

No, we only send invoices via email.

How do I know when my next payment is due?

In the app you will find an overview of when the next payment is due, and is also the date the new rental period starts.

What happens if I don't pay on time?

The keys will be disabled and you will immediately lose entry to the storage facility if payment is missed. Once outstanding amounts are paid, automatic access to the facility is granted again. Payment reminder is sent by email or sms.

How do I order a storage unit at Flexistore?

At Flexistore, you can do everything in the app, from booking to paying and unlocking doors to your booth:

1. Download the app and sign up.
2. Select the desired department and storage room.
3. Pay for the booth via the app.
4. A unique digital key will be assigned in the app and you can instantly unlock with your phone and move straight into the booth.

You can also order the booth in your browser by logging in here. To access the keys, you must download the app to your mobile phone.

I'm having trouble logging into the app?

Please note that login will remember capital letters in email and that you must have country code (+47) in front of your phone number. If you have forgotten your password, this can be changed by clicking on "forgotten password". If you are still having problems please contact customer service, we will help you resolve the issue.

How do I access the facility and storage unit?

The keys are generated in the Flexistore app. That is, your phone is your key - so download the app to your mobile or tablet to unlock your booth. (The app requires iOS or Android operating system).

How do I carry my belongings to and from the storage facility.

Flexistore offers several different transport options if you are unable to carry your belongings. The options and prices vary depending on the size and quantity you want to ship to the warehouse. Full overview and possibility of booking transport can be found in the Flexistore app.

By booking transportation through us you will get help to carry, transport and safely store your belongings in the booth of XFrakt or Best Transport. The transport will be emission-free, or 100% climate compensated.

The storage unit door won't open, the key doesn't work?

If you cannot open the booth, please check the following:

1. Are you logged into the app?
2. Is Bluetooth on your phone on? (Try turning Bluetooth on and off)
3. Does the phone have coverage and internet connection/4G/5G? (It's free guest service at Flexistore)
4. Has the lease expired?
5. Do you have outstanding claims that must be paid?
6. Try closing the app completely, turning your phone off and trying again.

If you are still experiencing problems please contact customer service and we will help you resolve the issue.

How do I change my personal information?

You can update your contact details and payment information in the app. Contact details are changed under More - User Profile. Here you can also change your password. Card details can be updated under the individual Storage Room - Subscription.

Can I change storage unit if I need less/bigger space?

If you need more or less space there is no problem changing the storage room - provided that the size you want is available. Contact customer service and we will help you switch without any administrative charges incurred. You can also easily order Bod No. 2. Please contact customer service and get a discount code at Bod No. 2.

Can I pre-book a storage unit?

It is quite possible to pre-order a storage room with us. Fill in the form hereor contact customer service and we'll arrange this for you.

What are your opening hours?

All our warehouses are open 24 hours a day. You can access the mini store through the keys in the app 24/7 every day, all year round.

Can I buy moving materials from you?

We currently do not offer the sale of moving materials.

Do you offer goods reception?

No, we currently do not offer goods receipts.
